Thu, 2 May 2002 15:37:53 -0400 Roy DuVerger provided the below email regarding information he received about discussions between St Joe/Arvida and the owners of the new Pelican Bay Yacht Club on Alligator Point for purchase of the yacht club. Please note that Roy is just sharing information he has obtained and that there has not yet been any public announcement of a change in ownership. There have been a lot rumors about this for the past month-so stay tuned. Of more direct concern to Alligator Point was the news from Carrabelle - I talked to the head of the Chamber of Commerce and to several Real estate agents along with other leaders of the area communities - they all said the same thing - St. Joe bought the Yacht Club Friday. It was the understanding of Ron (head of Chamber of Commerce, Carrabelle) that there would be no more condo's then what was there now, and that they were going to put in dry storage for 400 boats. These are people that I would consider a reliable source, however I would still like some sort of official verification. The building news was that St. Joe was not going to continue with building condo's - but put in dry storage for 400 boats. Roy DuVerger, President Apalachee Ecological Conservancy |
